I have stayed in this hotel a few times, mainly due to its location and good value foor money off season.Regarding the review from Englishman and the transfer, he blames the different in price in the transfer from Larnaca to Kyrenia to the euro. The truth is that if you pre-book a taxi it is far cheaper, whereas he turned up and was let down for whatever reason and had to take the taxi at the airport. The same happens when you fly into Ercan airport in Northern Cyprs, if you have arranged a pick... more

My husband and I stayed at the Pia Bella outside of the peak season in November and were very impressed. As the weather wasn't always burning sunshine, we needed to spend more time in the hotel and were very happy to do so! It was so comfortable, particularly the wooden flooring which proved much warmer than the traditional tiling you find in mediterranean countries. The only disappointment we had with the room was the fact that it had a faint smell of smoke, however when we complained, the hotel... more

arriverd late at night, booked in luggage was taken to my room and I was taken to the restuarant for a meal and welcome drink so far so good. The room I was allocated was not what I had booked,no problem I was moved the next morning.I found the staff most helpfull, in my book nothing was to much for them.Although it was early november weather very good, swimming in the pool ok if a little cold, but once again no problem.I was half board which gave me chance after breakfast to walk into Kyrenia for... more

Firstly I would like to thank the people of Kyrenia for their warm welcome, they were invariably helpful, polite and hospitable all of which contributed to a fantastic holiday. The JourneyFlight to Larnaca (southern Cyprus)…uneventful and on time. Book the extra leg rooms seats if you can. Food… typical airplane rubbish, I don't know why they don't just serve fresh sandwiches.I had arranged a transfer to Kyrenia privately with the Pia Bella at a cost of £45 …no taxi turned up. Having asked several... more

Really friendly and helpful staff, because we were touring we only had a short four day stay, every thing about the place was perfect. The superior room we had was spacious comfortable and had stunning views of the mountains across the pool area and the hotel gardens. The food and evening entertainment excellent. just a ten minute walk to the harbour made life very pleasant Must return soon for a longer holiday .Teresa And Les... more

Its been the second time my husband and i have stayed at the pia bella and both times we have enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and Sarah comes around at breakfast to say hello to all the guest and see if there are any problems. A resturant you must try is called number 14,it is a short walk away near the mosque you wouldnt know it was there as it is just a blue door in a norrow side road.I would recomend this hotel to people with or without children as it has 2 pools so you can always... more

We had a lovely holiday at the Pia Bella hotel, and very much enjoyed our first visit to North Cyprus. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome, and if you ever had a problem, a young lady would come around at breakfast and sort it out. We had a dripping tap in our bathroom, and it was fixed within just a few hours, which I though was impressive. The staff were very happy to help us with booking taxis, as many drivers spoke only a little English. Our room was very clean, and we had a nice view of... more

My fiancée and I stayed at the Pia Bella at the beginning of this month and had an amazing time. We decided to upgrade to a superior room as we were promised better views and more space. We definitely got what we were promised, and more. The room was more like a suite and the mountain views were stunning! We found the hotel to be in very good condition and it was exceptionally clean. It was fairly minimal in terms of décor but we felt that it added to how pristine it was. The cleanliness of the... more

We visited 10th - 17th May 2009 and this was our first stay at the Pia Bella on a B & B basis.Beautiful room but the view from the balcony was over the road. Obviously cannot comment on food as only had breakfast which was fine. The hotel is a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the harbour and the only drawback to some people was its position on the road. What did imprss about this hotel was the friendly staff, the relaxed feel of the place and the cleanliness. I would not hesitate in joining the... more

good rooms. comfortable, first class service.everything one could ask for in a modestly priced hotel. The Pia Bella is designed really well, with one able to find a quiet relaxing spot if one needs to. The car park is large but can get very busy, so parking could be a problem in high season.... more

The Pia Bella was a total surprise to us. What great value for money. Rooms are very light and spacious and just have enough character to make you feel comfortable.Staff very friendly and helpful.Excellent facilities, 2 good size swimming pools and large scenic gardens with lots of shade if needed. All age ranges were staying. Great place for children and older alike.Good traditional restaurants are about a 20 minute walk away and most offer good food at low prices.Beaches are few and far between,... more

Our room was clean, good size and had very good facilities. The pool and garden areas were extensive and well maintained. Staff were friendly and efficient. Buffet breakfast was excellent. (We only ate there one evening and the the food was fine but the menu did not seem to vary). The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from Kyrenia Harbour and though we felt safe walking in the evening the street lighting was poor. A car is essential to get around the island but there seemed to be sufficient free parking... more

A lovely hotel for a winter break, easily walkable into Kyrenia town and the harbour area, and local shops. Reception ordered us a meal on arrival, impressive as it was late, and were helpful with our luggage, etc. Room was neat, very clean and warm at night, and overlooked pool. (Might get noisy in summer but in january nobody was swimming outside!). Hotel itself is smart, staff very friendly, quiet at this time of year, but big log fire - very cosy after a day's sightseeing in the windy mountains.... more

This is the first time I spent the winter away from the UK, and it won't be the last. I can honestly say spending the winter in Kyrenia is money well spent. I avoided all the winter bugs that my friends back home had, met some lovely friends at the Pia Bella Hotel and had a wonderful travel experience.Although Kyrenia is not hot in January (it was around 60F, 15C when I was there) but the sun shone every day. When the temperatures dropped in the evening, the staff lit a big log fire in the bar.... more

The Pia Bella is probably mainly a summer hotel, as when we went in late November, it had a rather tired feel. it was also full with a UK tour group of small we say advanced years, which was obviously good for their business but not so good for the general buzz and atmosphere! The staff were friendly enough, but not exceptional, and being asked every morning if everything was OK got very tiring.Breakfast was OK, but judging from other reviews, probably not as varied as in the summer. We ate out... more

It's hard to fault the Pia Bella, as it's a 3 star hotel that thinks its four star! After arriving late from the airport we were offered a drink and a snack, and the staff were very welcoming. Our room was light and airy with a pretty mountain view, and very clean. Breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine was a real treat and the gardens always offered some shade somewhere. We're not ones to sit by the pool all day, so we walked into Kyrenia a couple of times (hot, dusty and tricky due to the broken... more

We have never been to North Cyprus before, but were utterly charmed by the country we saw and the people we met there. The Pia Bella was not our first choice of hotel, but in the end was probably better than our original choice. The hotel has an old Colonial look from the front but inside it's a modern hotel with all the facilities you'd expect. The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, and the young maid who cleaned our room every day was always smiling. Our meals at the Pia... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pia Bella Hotel for seven days. Our flight did not arrive until evening, yet we still found hotel staff to be available to check us in when we arrived. They also took us to the dining room where we obtained hot soup and sandwiches. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area, offering us advice on what to do. Being young we wanted to get in as much as possible of the Kyrenia area. The staff even talked us into taking a ride to some of the surrounding areas.... more

My girlfriend and I arrived late in the evening at the Pia Bella Hotel. We were greeted with welcoming smiles and an offer of food. Being late we decided food was a great idea. We had the dining room mostly to ourselves, and as a first romantic night it was perfect. When we arrived in our rooms it was big and clean. It took until the next day to realise we had a mountain view. For the first day we sat around the two pools, had a few drinks, and enjoyed a walk through the garden. We found you... more

For anyone thinking of going to North Cyprus, I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. The owners and staff make your stay a wonderful experience and nothing is too much trouble. Being a family run business makes a big difference, and we noticed that many guests were returning for their third and fourth time. When we arrived, the hotel had already given us a free upgrade to a superior room as they were not full. It was a beautiful big room with modern furniture and a spotlessly clean wood floor.... more
