I recently stayed at Salamis Bay with my husband and our daughter. We booked with Go North Cyprus, who were very accommodating and helpful and even arranged transfers for us. When we arrived at the hotel we were checked in efficiently by a friendly member of staff and given a comfortable room with a gorgeous sea view. Our daughter was full of energy (she is 3) and loved the indoor pool, we used it every day! It was fantastic to be so near to the beach as well, which was clean and pleasant. We had... more

I booked thru Go North Cyprus, overall happy with the Holiday but it is Not a five star, the rooms were clean and comfortable , the food a never ending choice and great Spa facilities, we spent most of our time on the beach . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and after they couldn't fix a non working AC unit in our room , they moved us into the new block, where we found a bottle of wine and some fruit waiting for us , (A nice touch ).... more

We stayed at the Salamis Bay Conti Hotel for a week in May with our four-year-old twins and had an amazing time, so much so that we've already arranged to return in 2017. We booked through GoNorthCyprus.com and got a great deal – we certainly didn't pay five-star prices! The hotel was clean and welcoming and we found fruit waiting for us in our room, which was a pleasant and unexpected touch. There was a great choice of food every day and plenty of fresh fruit and veg and parts of the hotel dedicated... more

Yet again, thanks to gonorthcyprus.com and the staff at Salamis Bay, we have had the most wonderful holiday. Form the moment we entered the fun began, with the playful banter with the reception staff. Our room was as great as always and the fruit and wine waiting for us was a real treat. The rooms are cleaned every day and the whole place is immaculate. We love visiting Famagusta and took the shuttle bus a couple of times. It was great to catch up with all friends at the bars we have frequented... more

Arrived in early October was greeted by very friendly reception staff. A special thank you to sami and izel in restaurant both a very good asset to the restaurant professional polite and very hard working. I would also like to thank umit, basil and Maria on the cocktail bar once again another great asset to salamis conti.I would like to thank all staff for a cracking holiday, also management for hiring such hard working and friendly individuals. Well done to all and many thanks. I'll be back very... more

An excellent hotel for all tastes. We went to totally relax and wasn't disappointed as the hotel has separate areas for those who want peace & quiet or want a more livelier experience. We spent most of the time on the beach with no hassle or noise from the nearby pool area. The hotel itself was not what most people consider 5 star but when you are in Northern Cyprus you have to take into consideration that there are no major hotel brands and be prepared for different standard to those experienced... more

A very disappointing stay. The Hotel is old, tired . They somehow think because guests have arrived All Inclusive that they haven't paid! The service is poor and drinks etc. are thrown at you. The quality of the drinks was terrible and like drinking paint stripper so paying AI is not worth it . There is a queue for breakfast and dinner as 1500 or more people file into 1 restaurant. Salamis has put a new block of bedrooms at the back and what serves these is an aqua pool so everybody uses the... more

I was very disappointed especially with a lack of English speaking staff. I found it really hard to communicate. The laundry services are absolutely useless, the gym opens late (but it's really well equipped). The food is very nice, with a wide selection of fresh vegetables and salads. The rooms were nice and clean.Everything was good apart from the hospitality of the employees. Everything was done with a huge effort and it made me feel really uncomfortable each and every time when I had to ask for... more

We stayed in a two bedroom villa, which was spotlessly clean. We had a great view of the pool and the sea which was lovely. The food was the best that we have ever experienced on an all inclusive basis, so much choice, well cooked and tasty. The desserts were plentiful and far too tempting! We were really pleased with the young man on Customer Relations who was really helpful, thank you. We found all the staff that we spoke to helpful and courteous. The animation team were a delight and worked hard... more

We stayed in a De-lux duplex at The Salamis Bay Conti Hotel. This consisted of a large living area/lounge, of which was a double bedroom; sea view balcony; stairs leading up to an on-suite bedroom with two single beds. Just off the entrance hallway was the main bathroom/toilet.The duplex overlooked the pool and sea. As it was only April, the sea was warm enough to swim and snorkel in. Just about a hundred meters off the beach is a rock reef, around which there are numerous fish to watch. There are... more

The hotel room was very clean but fairly small although adequate. It looked newly decorated in fact. The season didn't actually start until May, so a few things were not available, such as the water slides and one of the restaurants but this didn't affect our holiday. The staff were very pleasant and mostly helpful. Saying this we did have a small problem with the electrics in our room but, although we reported it twice it was never fixed. We were supposed to get two bottles of water in our room... more

The hotel in general was very clean our room [1618] was very large with a king / king size bed, the staff were extremely helpful. It would be a good idea for the reception staff to enquire if elderly visitors would require any assistance or had any health problems when registering. I've just returned from a trip to North Cyprus and am so pleased I picked it as a holiday destination! I've never been to Cyprus before but heard that the North is stunningly beautiful and since going, I believe that to be totally the truth! I spoke to Sue from Go North Cyprus and she suggested a few hotels which suited my family's needs and I picked the Salamis Bay after reading reviews. I thought the hotel was just fantastic. Beautifull hotel, good food lots of choice there is something for everyone never seen so much choices at the salad bar and desert table, the hotel was very clean and all the staff were excellent. Overall had a very nice time, we will certainly be going again later in the year if the price is right. The only drawbacks were that a couple of the staff looked a bit fed up but bearing in mind the hours they work they might just have a bad day, also the bar didnt have enough staff to cope, Ipresume this... more

Our stay was extremely pleasant and we would recommend the hotel to anyone considering a holiday in Northern Cyprus. Even though we went there at a particularly unattractive time of the year, and were not able to enjoy the full range of available attractions such as swimming in sea or the beach, we had a good time. The hotel is located about 15 minutes north of Famagusta, and is very close to magnificent, yet not very well known Salamis Ruins. Make sure you spare enough time to see it all. They... more

As much as I hate to subscribe to the stereotype that says that people will only bother to leave reviews in the event of a negative experience, I have just returned from Cyprus after a disappointing two-week stay and I feel a little compelled to make note of it, if not to prevent people from taking the same trip in future, then at least to spur the managers of the Salamis Bay to bring about some needed changes in their operation in order to bring it up to scratch. Our first impressions of the hotel... more

Hotel was lovely, with very helpful pleasant staff; all-inclusive was well worth the money, the food quality and variety meant that meal times were a joy. There is not a lot to do after a visit to Famagusta (the hotel has 2 mini-bus trips into and back form Famagusta daily) and a few day trips further afield (Kyrenia) however that was fine for us as we had the gym and indoor pool to keep us happy for the week of relaxation that we needed. The only down-side was the drilling that woke us up on Monday... more

Hotel on the beach and staff friendly. Great place to relax in the sun. Great pool area and lots of sunbeds and towels. I stayed at Salamis Bay Conti Hotel recently for a few days. I have to agree with the other reviews that say it's way below 5 stars. This hotel is maybe 3 stars, definitely no more, although they advertise themselves as being a 5 star hotel. The Salamis Bay Conti hotel seems a bit run-down to me (furniture and carpeting are pretty worn and everything seems outdated) and the air conditioning didn't work in my room. We stayed here for 9 days in May 2010. We'd read all the reviews before we went, and therefore weren't expecting too much from the hotel, but we were after a quiet getaway so it suited us just fine. It's advertised as 5-star, but that's not UK 5-star, I'd say it was more like a 3-star by UK standards. The first few days we were there, the hotel wasn't fully open (I think we went before the real start of the season) and they were still doing some maintenance work, but nothing that caused us any disruption... more

We stayed at the Salamis Bay last month and absolutely loved it!Before going we were warned that this part of North Cyprus was particularly desolate and therefore that we would be stuck with things to do. I responded to this by saying: 'isn't that why you go on holiday?!' We were fully prepared for a week of relaxation and nothingness in a beautiful place. My family have just returned from North Cyrpus, staying at the Salamis Bay Conti and had one of the best holidays ever! Our journey there was a little rough as we were delayed and ended up arriving late but this was immediately put aside as we reached the hotel. My wife and I stayed here with our kid (3 YO) in late January (In Cyprus to get away from a Russian winter and to look at some places to buy in North Cyprus), and found it better than anticipated from some of the reviews seen here. I would give it a fairly standard 4 stars. It is fairly old, and has that sort of 80s feel in terms of room fittings, and the faint whiff of laxer smoking laws in days gone by. But we found the staff very helpful and responsive, and great with kids. The pools (indoor... more

The hotel is not 5 star by international standards and if in Istanbul it would be classed between 3 and 4 star. The hot food was cold and the quality not very good either. The internet service is poor as there is not internet in the rooms and you can only get a voucher for 4 hours at a time and it is not cheap. The staff are freindly but again not up to 4 or 5 star standards. The business lounge comes out of the 1980's.If you are retired and want a cheap break then the hotel is okay, but it is not... more

My wife and I have recently got back from North Cyprus- we stayed at the Salamis Bay Conti Hotel and had a fantastic holiday.
