We stayed at the Salamis Bay last month and absolutely loved it!Before going we were warned that this part of North Cyprus was particularly desolate and therefore that we would be stuck with things to do. I responded to this by saying: 'isn't that why you go on holiday?!' We were fully prepared for a week of relaxation and nothingness in a beautiful place. The place was stunning and the hotel was situated in an great location with amazing views. As for not having things to do, if we wanted to we... more

My family have just returned from North Cyrpus, staying at the Salamis Bay Conti and had one of the best holidays ever! Our journey there was a little rough as we were delayed and ended up arriving late but this was immediately put aside as we reached the hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff who seemed to want to do their utmost to make us happy, which included preparing hot food even late at night, when we arrived. Throughout the holiday we were made to feel very welcome and they went out of... more

My wife and I stayed here with our kid (3 YO) in late January (In Cyprus to get away from a Russian winter and to look at some places to buy in North Cyprus), and found it better than anticipated from some of the reviews seen here. I would give it a fairly standard 4 stars. It is fairly old, and has that sort of 80s feel in terms of room fittings, and the faint whiff of laxer smoking laws in days gone by. But we found the staff very helpful and responsive, and great with kids. The pools (indoor... more

we stayed as a family at this hotel for a two night pamper style break. The indoor facilities were great good size indoor pool, sauna etc however the rest of the hotel lacked atmosphere the bar area was open plan and empty thus very boring for two teenagers. The buffet style food in the dining room was fair but lacked detail to presentation. The dining room again lacked atmosphere and with the tables arranged in a tresel type manner was not particularly welcomimg however there were a few tables... more

The hotel is not 5 star by international standards and if in Istanbul it would be classed between 3 and 4 star. The hot food was cold and the quality not very good either. The internet service is poor as there is not internet in the rooms and you can only get a voucher for 4 hours at a time and it is not cheap. The staff are freindly but again not up to 4 or 5 star standards. The business lounge comes out of the 1980's.If you are retired and want a cheap break then the hotel is okay, but it is not... more

The hotel is perfect for small conferences and workshops - various facilities and cosy conference rooms, qualified staff and good food. In October, which is off-season, the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing and the guests could still enjoy seaside sunbathing and swimming in the warm sea.Although there seemed to be some problems with air conditioning, which hardly functioned in the bedrooms and misfunctioned in the conference rooms and halls. Nevertheless, it could not spoil the overall favourable... more

We went for 4 nights in May and had read some reviews before going, but the best thing to do is ignore must of them. We had a brilliant time, the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Food was excellent, a different buffet meal everynight with musical intertainment, guests of all nationalities mixed very well and there was always plenty of seating in the longe bar. The pool areas were spotless and loads of sunbeds with towels, even on the private beach. You would need transport as it's... more

We chose the Salamis Conti Hotel because it was a 5 star holiday hotel in the quieter east part of Cyprus. While I think it's not UK 5 star standard, we had a very nice time, and saw a lot of North Cyprus during our stay. Our room in the main hotel was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small and needed some maintenance work on the bath, but was OK for my husband and I. The hotel generally was kept very nicely, and the staff always smiled at us, even if I suspect they... more

My wife and I have recently got back from North Cyprus- we stayed at the Salamis Bay Conti Hotel and had a fantastic holiday. What really pleased us was how the area wasn't very anglicised, it was more authentic, as was the hotel. We were looking to go away and just relax and that is exactly what we did. The hotel was comfortable, clean and the staff were friendly. Not all staff were fluent in English but we really liked this because we actually felt like we were abroad! The hotel had plenty of... more

Just back for a week at the Salamis Bay hotel, and what a lovely week it was - sun, sand, good service and happy kids - bliss! We had a 'bungalow' which was more like an apartment, and just great for the family. The outdoor pool was well used by the boys and their dad, but baby Meg and I preferred the inside pool, softy girls that we are. All of us loved the clean beach and spent hours there. We had never been to North Cyprus before, not sure what to expect. The staff made us feel very welcome and... more

Had a nice holiday at the Salamis Conti, right on the beach, with views right over the bay - lovely. Boyfriend is a bit of an ancient ruins nut, so he loved being so close to the ancient city of Salamis and spent two days (yes, two) tramping over the site and the tombs over the road. I stayed by the pool with a beer or six!Hotel has two sections, the hotel block and separate bungalows to the other side of the swimming pool area. Whole pool area was kept clean and tidy, and the gardens were nice... more
