My sister has had a particularly bad year with lots going wrong for her so to avoid the inevitable Christmas blues I decided I'd plan a secret trip away to somewhere she'd like to visit for the Christmas period. I know she's visited North Cyprus before and really enjoyed it so I chose to book here again. After a lot of searching the web and reading a few reviews I found a hotel called the Ada hotel. They were pretty busy in terms of availability but were very obliging and I booked a room for us.... more
I work for a multinational based in London and as part of my role I'm required to travel to North Cyprus on a regular basis. Normally it's only a few days im there but sometimes if the deals and negotiations drag out longer than expected I can be delayed quite substantially. In November 2011 I visited Northern Cyprus and my host put me up in a hotel called the Ada. Normally I wouldn't care one bit as long as it was clean and secure (as I carry a lot of computer equipment around with me). However... more
I stayed at the Ada hotel in North Cyprus, accompanied by my wife and three children who are between the ages of 11 and 17 at the end of September 2011. We were all very impressed with the accommodation. It was extremely luxurious, comfortable and clean. The hotel has a nice swimming pool which the kids loved. The only thing that I have to complain about was the weather, it was not the best, but I suppose that was due to the time of year that we went. There was a nice local beach equipped with all... more
We stayed at the Ada Hotel recently for several days. Due to the low rate we got on the room, I expected it to be not as nice as some, but I was pleasantly surprised. It appears the place has recently been renovated. According to another couple who have stayed here several times in the past, it's been enlarged and the interior redecorated. In the lobby, the floors are marble and there's an impressive-looking staircase and some fabulous artwork on the walls. Our room was hotel-room standard, but... more
I felt a little let down after visiting the Ada Hotel. My husband and I stayed here recently and although most about it was good, we felt they were misleading with their advertising. This place is definitely not what we expected. We were led to believe that it was more of an upscale, luxurious type of hotel, when in reality it's very small and far from luxurious. Our room reminded me of a discount hotel chain, although it was adequate for us. The bathroom was miniscule - very disappointing.... more
My friend and I flew to Northern Cyprus and stayed at the Ada Hotel recently for two nights and I have to admit, I was pretty impressed. Not only with the hotel, but with the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The mountains are truly spectacular and the hillside is covered in forestland. The foliage is lush and green. It's quite impressive. I couldn't stop admiring the view. The shoreline is pretty too, and just as impressive as the rest of the view, with pretty beaches and tropical foliage.... more
myself my wife and our three children aged 10,14 and 16 stayed at the Ada hotel in north Cyprus for 2 weeks in late september this year. We all thought it was a fantastic hotel and a really lovely place to stay over at. The location was wonderful and the hotel was decorated to a high standard finish throughout. The kids spent most of the time around the pool, although the weather wasnt all that great for the whole time they didnt seem to be bothered by it at all. Theres a beach nearby too which... more
My wife decided to book a break to get away from a really busy summer (we run a restaurant) and as we'd never visited, north cyprus was our choice. We spent just under a fortnight at the Ada Beach Hotel this September. I have to say it was a delightful place to rest and relax! We feel that the location was near perfect and the decor of the Ada was clearly carefully chosen to a high spec and a great standard. We both really enjoy swimming and relaxing in the pool so this is an area we particularly... more
My partner and I visited Northern Cyprus this year and stayed at the Ada Hotel. The area where our hotel was located is incredibly picturesque, with many tree-laden slopes and mountain views to enjoy. Thankfully many of these could be seen from the Ada.We were very impressed by the interior decoration and overall presentation of the hotel, and clearly a lot of careful thought has gone into making the place looking as luxurious as possible- there are marble floors and canvasses all over the walls... more
We'd never been to Turkey before and we were very impressed. We liked the hotel and it has superb amenities. You can even watch a film in the hotel cinema, which has a bar. It's only a few minutes walk from the town and we never felt threatened. The décor and design are tastefully done and we particularly liked the pool area and the dining room. If you're used to something more pretentious, then you won't get that here. The Turkish style architecture and interior was to our tastes and it was obvious... more
My husband and I had been staying in the south of the island and we decided to see what the northern Turkish side was like. It's more historic on this side and greener too which we really enjoyed. The consensus is that this is the best part of the island following the spoils of battle from the Turkish invasion in 1974. My hubby enjoys histroy so it suited him to a tee! The forest strewn slopes to the shore and the surrounding mountains are very impressive and picturesque. The Troodos Mountains are... more
Upon arrival at the hotel, my husband and I were very impressed with the Ada hotel. We'd booked based on location rather than the hotel's standards and therefore were expecting ample accommodation offset by stunning scenery. We were right on count… the scenery was stunning, but the hotel was even better than expected. The décor wasn't lavish but it was clear that the hotel take pride in keeping it clean and well presented. It looked like it had be redecorated fairly recently; the walls were pristinely... more
We've just returned from a week's holiday at the Hotel Ada in Kyrenia. We landed at Ercan airport and took the coach to the hotel which tool around an hour. The trip was nice enough but the journey took us through some not so pleasing looking areas, with an endless stream of litter on the streets and a stray dog or two. There also seemed to be a high number of empty or derelict buildings which didnt give the best impression to tourists at the start of their holiday. The Ada hotel was about 10 mins... more
