I work for a multinational based in London and as part of my role I'm required to travel to North Cyprus on a regular basis. Normally it's only a few days im there but sometimes if the deals and negotiations drag out longer than expected I can be delayed quite substantially. In January 2016 I visited Northern Cyprus and my host put me up in a hotel called the Ada. Normally I wouldn't care one bit as long as it was clean and secure (as I carry a lot of computer equipment around with me). However this hotel was a real gem. The whole place had been decorated and maintained to a high standard and I was pleased to note that the cleanliness was second to none. I can say this with conviction as I've stayed in a lot of hotels, but this was one of the most comfortable feeling hotels I've been in. The food was just as you'd expect, nothing too fancy but certainly nothing you could complain about either. The evening saw an a la carte menu which was very good (thank you business expenses!) There seemed to be plenty of other guests around but I didn't feel as though it was one of those places that becomes saturated with British guests. That said, I did notice a Christmas special advertised but can't recall the details. I ended up staying here for 9 days in total and although I had to switch rooms at one point due to a small leak, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I'd happily come back again on either business or a personal trip to North Cyprus.

Liked — pleasant staff and well presented hotel
Disliked — location meant I needed a taxi daily
