We have been staying here twice a year for 4 years. Been to plenty of others but I can't better The Ship. I would reccomend to friends and family. This is all I want to say but this page keeps asking for more information. Still asking for more info, what a pain. I wish I hadn't bothered now. I am only doing it because some busy body moaning brit gave it a bad review. Bloody hell It's still not enough. Very pleased with the Ship Inn's service - much better than the price suggests. Room was clean if not oversmart. Whole hotel atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, as a family hotel should be. TV was all Turkish, tho'.Arrived late in the evening but staff made sure we had something to eat and helped with our bags. Breakfast and dinners we had were OK, with a reasonable choice, this reflected the hotel's ethos of honest good fun in the sun rather than pampered luxury at a price. Ate out in Kyrenia... more
The Ship Hotel was dreadful, the food and drinks were very expensive and they had a total monopoly as there was absolutely nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Nearest supermarket was a fifteen minute walk.On the 3 days that we stayed our room was never cleaned before 4.30 in the afternoon, we had to ask to be shown how to use the room safe 3 times, a party of 23 arrived on what I assume was a company bonding weekend and took over the pool for their silly games. The Ship Inn may sound like a pub, but behind its mock Tudor facade is a really nice hotel! We met guests who have stayed there year after year, always a good sign. The bar was also popular with ex-pats, so it was always lively.Our room had been refurbished last year and was kept tidy and clean, with a good bathroom, decent balcony and nice new beds. We used the air con a lot because if you opened the windows for too long, the mosquitos found their way in! Next time we will take some plug-ins against... more
