My husband and I have visited the Ship Inn more than once, we are more than happy with their services and that is why we chose to come back. The first time that we visited it was recommended to us by a friend, so when we took a trip to North Cyprus we made sure we had a room booked. The hotel is very reasonably priced, which obviously had an influence on our return. Apart from that it is very well decorated, with a unique mix of English and Mediterranean glamour. It is also very bright and clean,... more
I surprised my wife with a last minute trip to Kyrenia because I managed to get a great deal now the summer season is over. I'm pretty sure that she would've been made up with anywhere we stayed considering it was a treat, but we were both very impressed with the Ship Inn considering its price. The hotel and apartments were in a great location, on the outskirts of Kyrenia. Being slightly away from the heart of the town meant that it had a more private and quiet feel. Saying that, we were still... more
We stayed at the Ship Inn recently at the start of the busy season as a birthday surprise. We purchased full board, which we realized was a mistake. The full board menu quickly became boring, as it was very repetitive and also there wasn't much food on the plate. I'm not kidding when I say that the entrée was closer to what an appetizer would be as far as quantity. Add the lack of substance to the fact that the same menu was served over and over and it became apparent that the full board option... more
We recently returned from a trip to North Cyprus, where we stayed at the Ship Inn Hotel. This was our second holiday to this lovely place and because we'd had such a wonderful time last year, we chose to stay at the Ship Inn a second time. The price was right and the rooms were impeccably clean and very comfortable. The décor was unique in that it sports an old English look and feel. It reminds one of an English estate plunked down into the middle of a mediterranean seaside town. The grounds... more
My husband and I returned to the Ship Inn after visiting about this time last year. We went with another couple on recommendation of how good it was last time so returned to North Cyprus. In some ways, the hotel totally lived up to expectations. First and foremost, the price was excellent and it's always a bonus staying somewhere that you have been before. The décor was still clean and fresh and the rooms were very comfortable and we absolutely love its quirky old English look amid the beautiful... more

We have been staying here twice a year for 4 years. Been to plenty of others but I can't better The Ship. I would reccomend to friends and family. This is all I want to say but this page keeps asking for more information. Still asking for more info, what a pain. I wish I hadn't bothered now. I am only doing it because some busy body moaning brit gave it a bad review. Bloody hell It's still not enough. How about Mary had a little lamb she also has a fish and every where that mary went. ....... Make... more
Very pleased with the Ship Inn's service - much better than the price suggests. Room was clean if not oversmart. Whole hotel atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, as a family hotel should be. TV was all Turkish, tho'.Arrived late in the evening but staff made sure we had something to eat and helped with our bags. Breakfast and dinners we had were OK, with a reasonable choice, this reflected the hotel's ethos of honest good fun in the sun rather than pampered luxury at a price. Ate out in Kyrenia... more
The Ship Hotel was dreadful, the food and drinks were very expensive and they had a total monopoly as there was absolutely nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Nearest supermarket was a fifteen minute walk.On the 3 days that we stayed our room was never cleaned before 4.30 in the afternoon, we had to ask to be shown how to use the room safe 3 times, a party of 23 arrived on what I assume was a company bonding weekend and took over the pool for their silly games. The only good point was the lovely... more
The Ship Inn may sound like a pub, but behind its mock Tudor facade is a really nice hotel! We met guests who have stayed there year after year, always a good sign. The bar was also popular with ex-pats, so it was always lively. Our room had been refurbished last year and was kept tidy and clean, with a good bathroom, decent balcony and nice new beds. We used the air con a lot because if you opened the windows for too long, the mosquitos found their way in! Next time we will take some plug-ins against... more
