We stayed in the merit Crystal Cove Hotel in 2006 and enjoyed our stay generally. We thought we would gothere again this year. Apparently the prices have gone up by 30£ per night since last year. Are they kidding.Although we enjoyed our holiday when we stayed there we did not consider it a 5 star hotel. We found the staff to be quite unfriendy and tip seeking all the time. It is really geared to the gambler in the casino. We certainly consider it to be overpriced. We can get a cheaper holiday... more
my wife and myself recently stayed over the xmas period and cannot fault the hotel in any way. we found all the staff friendly and could speak enough english to communicate without any problems.the food was excellent and the room was very good , everything was supplied in the rooms ,including fresh fruit, nuts, and a bottle of wine.we have already booked to return in january for our wedding anniversary and im sure the same high standards will still prevail.... more
We booked two interlocking rooms for ourselves and our teenage boys from the 24th - 27th December. We had two friends book the hotel at the same time. Our rooms were lovely with all that we needed in there, slippers, robes, plenty of bathroom products, tea and coffee and a non alcoholic mini bar. Our rooms were facing the sea and the mountains, beautiful views. The hotel boasts a beautiful spa offering a full range of treatments, the spa was free to use by guests (unlike some other hotels)... more
Earlier this year we flew to Northern Cyprus to visit the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel. The Hotel is advertised as 5 star, and we got a relatively good deal on flights and accommodation. The trip got off to a less-than-flying start when we discovered that our taxi from the airport to the hotel was going to cost £100 for just over an hour's journey. That's a considerable expense considering we had to budget for the same fare coming back!As we approached Merit Crystal Cove we were struck by the awesome... more
We stayed here for 11 days on a 2 centre break, only realising it is A/I. after we had booked. Our room on arrival was nice, but would have preferred one on a higher level. Not much U.K. tv,maybe this is not important as don't holiday to watch mostly rubbish.Setting is cracking with plenty beds n beanies for sun.Decking gets rather hot so need footwear to walk about.Lunch & afternoon tea were good.Evening meals very good with a choice of freshly cooked regional dishes. We found bar service very slow... more
We've just come back from an amazing week in Kyrenia after staying at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel. From start to finish the holiday was superb, with the hotel being one of the main reasons. The staff went out of their way to help you, no matter what your request! The rooms were spacious and well equipped with an excellently stocked fridge. They were airy and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The main highlight of the hotel was its excellent choice of fresh, and clearly local, food.... more
We had a fabulous time at the Merit Crystal Cove. The hotel is very spacious, rooms very clean and comfortable. The food is fantastic and so much of it. Loads of sunbathing areas and right on top of the beach. The situation is a bit out of the way and a car is recommended if you wish to explore the area This was our first holiday in Northern Cyprus, it won't be our last. We will definitely return and yes-----to the Crystal Cove. It's just a superb hotel... more

I've just got back from a couple of weeks at this amazing and first class hotel. I travelled with a friend for a few days in the sun relaxing after a hard few months back home. The accommodation and dining were wonderful and all the rooms were so clean including the bathrooms. This was something that really stood out for me as im funny about hygiene abroad. My highlight as far as food is concerned is the chocolate dipped strawberries that were brought to our table by the gorgeous waiters. They did... more

The Merit Crystal an excellent all-inclusive hotel situated in extensive grounds. Plenty of places to relax, hammocks abound in the beautiful gardens and swimming areas. If you like the sea or prefer the pool - its a swimmers paradise. Special areas created for the keen snorkler with instant entry to deep water and the interesting underwater world. My only criticism of this area was the lack of a life guard or pool supervision. During our stay a small group of young boys ran roit in/around the main... more
Recently stayed at this hotel and booked it through a company called A1Cyprus.com Extesinsive building works were taking place, a lot of the facilities were shut down and was unable to use one of my rooms. Both the hotel and the agent ( contact name Angie Mills ) have refused to do anything about my nightmare stay and not providing whar was promised! I am sure that the hotel is probably good if it weren't for these renovations so check before booking that they have completed the works and don't... more
Thinking it was about time for a break having missed last summer due to work I booked a week getaway at the Merit Crystal Cove for myself and my wife. I found a great deal and were really excited about the trip. When we travel, my partner and I normally prefer to eat out in the evening at local restaurants to really get the most out of the holiday and the local culture. We did stay in on two occasions and the hotel buffet food was really surprisingly good. There was a large and varied choice which... more
We booked the Hotel with our neighbours and stayed for 3 nights over christmas. We all had a great time. The rooms were excellent with good views. Cleaning staff ensured everything was kept to high standard throughout our stay. Whereever we were in the Hotel all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The choice of food was good at all 3 meals during the day with a wide selection of hot and cold items. Overall good value for money and I am sure we will be back.... more
I booked a surprise trip for my partner and I last month to stay at the Merit Crystal Cove hotel. I'd visited kyrenia before but never this particular hotel. We found it to be in an excellent location at the north coast of the island with great views and some lovely scenery. There were also two very nice beaches, one of which was a typical sandy style beach for tourists and the other was more of a rocky and private place, away from it all. You could swim at both as the water was lovely and clear... more
The best 5 star hotel in Northern Cyprus , excellent food and clean rooms, wonderful gardens, perfect beach, nice pool area. We really felt at home in this hotel although there were so many people. The only bad thing was the public Internet. We wanted to check in our flights back home by Internet, but we were not able to print the bording passes and nobody could help. There was no printer. We will come again although the trip to Ercan from Switzerland is a bit complicated throuh Istanbul (you almost... more
Booked a week at the Merit Crystal Cove for myself and my wife. Got an inclusive deal that even included local drinks, and you could have a packed lunch if you were out during the day, which other guests said was nice. (We ate at local restaurants or at the hotel lunchtimes so we didn't try them.) Evening buffet food was nice and with a good choice and you could have as much as you wanted, so you never were hungry! Breakfast was also big! You can swim in the sea off the rocks in front of the hotel... more
we booked for a weekend stay to be pampered and enjoy the perks of an all inclusive hotel and we were not disappointed. Having been shown to our adjoining rooms with breath taking views of the sea the children were keen to explore the facilities of the hotel. being young teenagers not easily impressed they soon found the pool and beach areas and small gym. whilst not all the bars were open as out of season they did not go hungry or thirsty and happy in the knowledge that they could order food... more
We booked the Merit Crystal Cove for a short winter break after staying with friends in Nicosia. The hotel is very smart and international in feel, but it was only after we had booked in that we realised that it is a conference hotel during the winter. The delegates were not around during the day, so the hotel was nice and quiet, but the bars got very busy at night after their meals. This didn't bother us much, although we did hear some noise one night as people in neighbouring rooms returned from... more
My family went for a week at the Merit Cove in June, and it was really an amazing hotel, painted bright colours and with an odd shape outside, but inside its very smart and feels like a real 5 star hotel. My room was big, with a big satellite tv, and a door through to Mum and Dad which was like having your own room but felt safer. The swimming pool was really warm, with lots of beds around it but it does get really hot in the sun. there wasn't much shade if you didn't get an umbrella to sit under.... more
