We've just got back from our break at Onar Holiday Village and can safely say we had a great time. I found the hotel on the gonorthcprus website and we booked soon after. It was my wife and I plus our two children both under 4. We got a good price for our bungalow, which was comfortable and had everything we needed without being over the top on luxury. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed breakfast on the veranda every day. Nice outdoor pool and great views of the sea. A great value... more

My wife and I plus our daughter stayed at Onar Holiday Village recently on a deal we found through Go North Cyprus. We booked through the site and were very pleased with the price for our trip, which included transfers. We arrived to a spacious and very clean bungalow, yes it was a bit basic but with a toddler that's better for us - less to ruin! The views from the hotel are superb, you can see down over the sea and the town, and the pool area is inviting and relaxing. The staff were welcoming and... more

My family and I stayed at Onar Village July 2018 and had a fantastic holiday at this property. The bungalow we stayed in was clean, well air-conditioned, and very comfortable for my family of five. With the hotel situated high above Kyrenia, you have the feeling of an exclusive 5-star hotel with terrific views of the downtown and sea without the hectic crowdedness of the city. A short five minute drive to many beaches was big factor for my family. The friendly, english-speaking staff is very attentive... more

We liked the reviews of Onar Holiday Village and booked a week away through GoNorthCyprus. The hotel is a little old fashioned but this adds to its charm, many other places we've stayed at in the past look the same and are very modern, so it was nice to stay somewhere with a bit of character. We had a pleasant, airy room, well equipped and with a superb view. The pool area is great and it's very enjoyable to eat of of doors. The staff are friendly and the hotel definitely has a family feel, nothing... more

We have visited the region several times before but this was our first time at Onar Holiday Village. We fancied a change from our usual haunts and found a good deal for a week away through the gonorthcyprus website. For a mid-range hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by the standard at Onar, our room was very comfortable with a fabulous view and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff, from start to finish. The food is excellently cooked and the outdoor eating area is attractive. The pool... more

We spent a week at Onar Holiday Village after finding a great deal on the GoNorthCyprus website. Very good value and staff were wonderful. We liked the setting of the hotel on the hillside with views over the town and coast below, very relaxing and tranquil. The location is outside town so away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was a good size and housekeeping changed the towels every day and kept the room clean. Drinks prices very reasonable and outdoor pool area pleasant but we didn't brave... more

When we found Onar Holiday Village on the GoNorthCyprus website we were swung right away by the reviews and booked a week's stay. We had a great time; the owner Mehmet is really friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself occupies a pleasant spot on the hillside, with truly wonderful views out over Girne. We had a very nice, clean and comfortable room and enjoyed the hotel's tranquil ambience. Towels were changed regularly, breakfast every day was very good and more than sufficient, we also had dinner... more

Very nice traditional hotel with good staff. Booked a week's stay through gonorthcyprus and was very pleased with the deal. Our room was clean and comfortable with most modcons except for a hairdryer. The grounds are beautifully kept and the pools are clean. The food I cannot fault, especially the meze, and the staff are beyond helpful and friendly - the owner himself is always about and is very pleasant to talk to. Very decent and plentiful breakfast every morning and worth eating at the hotel's... more

If you like a friendly hotel with a personal touch then this is the place. We booked our second trip for 2017 through gonorthcyprus after a great experience last year and this time around was no exception. The manager is so welcoming, you are made to feel like a part of the family. Beautiful mountain views and fresh air, also views over the town on the other side and sea in the background - our room overlooked this side and we enjoyed the vista from our balcony. The room itself was clean and pleasant... more

We booked in at Onar Holiday Village with gonorthcyprus.com for our first visit to the region. We had a lovely little villa surrounded by gardens and found the accommodation comfortable and quiet, if a little tired. Even so, we paid an excellent price so cannot complain! Very courteous and friendly staff greeted us daily and the villa was kept clean. Nice setting away from the road with pleasant scenery of the hills, town below and the sea. We enjoyed the food very much, always fresh, hot and homemade,... more

We booked a holiday at the Onar Holiday Village for March with GoNorthCyprus after reading the reviews and had a fabulous time. The family who owns the hotel met us shortly after arrival and were so welcoming, there was a lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff take a genuine interest in the guests, which is rare these days. The villa we stayed in was traditional, if a bit dated, in decor and very clean, the food is lovely - local dishes and very tasty with a good selection at dinner time. The... more

Our stay at the family run Onar Holiday Village couldn't have been better. We absolutely loved the relaxed atmosphere here, together with the traditional decor. It definitely felt as though we were staying with a Cypriot family, instead of at a lovely hotel. Everywhere you look you'll find antiques from around the country, and the hotel's villas very much reflect an authentic Turkish Cypriot home, or at least what we imagined one to look like!Although North Cyprus does have great weather all year... more

Booked with Go North Cyprus Onar Village is in a wonderful location on the hillside overlooking Kyrenia. It is only a short and cheap taxi ride into Kyrenia and during the heat of August Onar was noticeably cooler than the town. The hotel buildings are lovely, clean and welcoming and nicely decorated. The pool area, and pool bar were never too crowded and again kept beautifully clean. There is a beautiful indoor pool and small gym. The restaurant on the terrace overlooks Kyrenia and although we... more

All I can say is 'wow'! My family have just been on a wonderful holiday to Kyrenia, with a truly excellent hotel! We stayed at the Onar Holiday Village, which compared to many of the other Kyrenia hotels promised simple facilities at a really reasonable price. When we got there though, we quickly realised that the simple facilities were so much more! We booked through the wonderful gonorthcyprus.com. We booked a similar holiday with them last year and were so impressed with their professionalism... more

We've just returned from a fantastic break at Onar Holiday Village in North Cyprus, we were looking for somewhere small and uncrowded but with amazing views, and Sue at gonorthcyprus.com recommended the hotel to us as it ticked all the boxes. When we arrived we were bowled over, the setting was so picturesque with views of the mountains and the sea, and the hotel was surprisingly well appointed considering its size. The staff were really friendly and accommodating – you could tell the place was... more

We love the Onar so much we've just returned from our 4th visit in 2 years, our 6th visit in total, and stayed for 3 weeks this time. As always, we booked through gonorthcyprus.com, the best travel agent for this area bar none. They've always been great, especially Sue.A short taxi ride away from the stunning Kyrenia harbour, the Onar offers beauty, peace, tranquillity and everything you could want or need for a truly memorable holiday. We were greeted like old friends on arrival, which we are really,... more

we booked our holiday at the last minute, and were not disappointed! Our room, with balcony, overlooked the mountains and the sea out towards Bellapais abbey, and was flooded with sunlight from early morning. The layout of the hotel is perfect, with the dining room & area overlooking Kyrenia, and the pool laid out alongside it, again with beautiful panoramic views of the mountains and Kyrenia harbour. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help and make you relax... more

I booked my family's stay at the Onar Holiday Village through Gary at GoNorthCyprus.com who gave us a fantastic deal. The two reasons we picked this holiday village were the reasonable price and location. On both counts we weren't let down but better than that, we found some hidden extras that we weren't expecting! The hotel's facilities are excellent, with a sizeable indoor pool and gorgeous log fire in the lounge every evening. The staff are also very friendly and helpful- nothing is too much trouble.... more

We booked an off-peak stay in North Cyprus to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. She's due to move out next month so we wanted something for a final family holiday. We had a tight budget so had to go for a smaller, less commercial hotel and we had our doubts to begin with. I can't explain how wrong we were! The Onar Holiday Village was absolutely excellent! I would recommend it to anyone I know going on holiday to North Cyprus. We booked one of the holiday villas through Sue- she recommended... more

Stayed for 10 days from 26th September, great view of mountains and down into the town.Friendly staff and soptlessly clean, rooms great size, comfortable and well furnished. Great pool and best sun loungers of any hotel we have stayed in. Only 2 negatives amongst all the positives and certainly not enough to prevent us returning - Holiday info on web does not say a dual carriageway has been built by the entrance to the hotel, (does not spoil view and no real traffic noise heard) just means you cannot... more

I have just returned from a girly holiday staying at the Onar Holiday Village. We were after a short, relaxing break, somewhere reasonably priced and I do believe that we got exactly that! The Onar was well presented with lovely gardens. It was very peaceful and had a relaxing feel. On the negative side, it was set quite far back from local amenities and most visits out required a taxi ride. However, as we were keen to do fairly little, it didn't bother us too much. Also, being far out gave it that... more

Our room at the Onar was clean and had a small balcony overlooking the harbour. Food in the restaurant was good, also at local restaurants such as 6 Brothers and at restaurants in Kyrenia itself. Beers were OK price, and much needed in the heat! The outdoor pool was clean and clear and perfect for cooling off. The Onar had a gym and indoor pool which was deserted when we were there but is good to have onsite if you go in winter. The village has lots of steps from one area to another, but most of... more
