The rooms are clean, hotel has a nice beach and resort, but most of the facilities such as outdoor pool, aqua park and night club was closed during our stay, since they claim it is not summer yet. The personal are nice and friendly. But they will charge you for everything basically. Although dinner was included in our booking, we have to pay for the water or any soft drink separately. Stayed for a week at this hotel, the last week in October. Unfortunately we did not know this was a local religious festival and therefore the hotel was packed. There were thousands of people everywhere. The restaurant was like a school dining hall magnified a hundred times. I chose this hotel on a recommendation from a friend who stayed there a few years ago. I think it has got bigger since then. We enjoyed a 10 day stay at the Acapulco at the end of October. The first weekend we were there was absolutely manic, due to Bayram, a local festival. This meant that the lobby area resembled a luggage store most days, with people arriving and departing and meals were awful. The food selection is great, but there is no management in the dining room and no one has considered what the experience is like for the diner. Overall, it was a good holiday, but there are some reservations. Originally allocated a bungalow, we refused to stay in one and would not recommend them to anyone. Hotel is very big and on quite a steep slope - not for the unfit.Sun loungers are the best ever on the lawn area but some of the pool towels are no bigger than a hand towel so it's either sit on it or lean back on it - you can't cover both!Meals were very repetitive although there were plenty of salad. This is a great hotel and complex particularly for children. We had a great time and the food was really good. We have just returned from a 10 days stay at the Acapulco Beach Hotel in Kyrenia. We had a wonderful , relaxing holiday, superb food and friendly staff. The children loved the swimming pools and slides. There is also a theme park that opens each evening for children. The surrounding area is lovely. Spent a lovely morning at Kyrenia Castle and also visited the Bellapais Abbey which was beautiful and well worth a visit. Would defintely go back again in the future.... more
We are a family of 3 (our daughter is 1 years old), we stayed at this hotel for 9 nights and we loved every minute of it. I class myself as a bit of a "spa junkie" and I have got to report that the Hamman in this hotel is 5 star plus!! I tried a few other treatments and they were great aswell. I booked this so called 5 star hotel from internet for 3 nights full board in late December with my wife and 4 years old daughter. The hotel is advertised as 5 star. However, generally it looks like a 4 star hotel. The day we checked in, the bathtub did not have a plug. So we had to ask for it. The bathtub shower splash shields had black mold at various places. We stayed at the Acapulco Beach Resort for three days over Christmas. I could not fault a thing about this hotel. Every body from the cleaners up to the executive chef work to the highest standards all being overseen by Denise who is an asset to this company. I stayed at this hotel for one week and really enjoyed it. The bungalow rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. A good range of toiletries are also supplied. The beach is faultless being beautifully clean with crystal clear water. Beach towels + loungers are provided. I've never been to Cyprus, and friends were surprised that I'd chosen Northern Cyprus. I stayed at the Acapulco Beach Club Hotel. I was in Pine Court One-it was very quiet there but within easy reach of everything. The best bit for me-as a keen swimmer-was the beach. We were two times at Acapulco Hotel. First in May and we found it so nice that we went back again in September. The Hotel is very confortable. There are a well tended garden, a private beach 700 meter working lenght that gently disrate into clean sea.(An ideal place for no swimming people). I was a bit concerned about going in September that it would not be hot enough but it was perfect. The Beach was Fab u lous and having the Beach Bar there too just made such a difference. A little concern when booked about crossing South Cyprus border after arranging flight to Larnica airport. But crossing - both ways was very straight forward. We stayed at the Acapulco Beach Club Hotel for 2 nights and 3 days. We wish we would have known how wonderrful this resort is. The beach was gorgeous and clean. The positives certainly outweigh the negatives. Could do better at: clearing away the cutlery and dishes after a meal in a room, noticed on 2 occasion itmes left for several hours, leaving them open for cats to nor away in the corridor at them. Although we only stayed a couple of nights, a treat for my wife's 60th Birthday, we had a fabulous time. The staff were very attentive and the food was wonderful. The Hotel has everything you need for a good holiday, a fantastic pool area, one of the best beaches I've seen in Cyprus, almost as good as Coral Bay. This resort has seen better days, the gardens are awful, the pathways are broken and dangerous. The accommodation is poor and shabby. In our vialla every door and drawer handle was broken the roof leaked and no attempt had been made to repair it. Top prices in the bars and the beach bar is beyond belief. Bungalows is pretty small. Shower was broken. There were only shampoo and soup in bathroom.Only reception staff know english, but housekeeper or waiter wouldn't understand you at all.Normal juce - extra, internet - extra, safe in the room - extra, coffee after the diner - just impossible.And one more very annoying thing - crowds around tables with meals. It's such a great shame about this hotel as the land it sits on is a gem, great beach, plently of land, but poor service and certainly over priced. The only thing that was nice was the beach. Other than that it was a dissapointment and it was also stressful. i had my 5 year old with me and the hotel people were spraying pesticides every day even while families were walking by. May/June 2010 I stayed at the Acapulco Hotel and can honestly say that the hotel was superb in every aspect. Food brilliant with loads of choice, bungalow very comfortable, pool and beach just wonderful. We stayed here for 2 weeks. The first week was very quiet and we enjoyed the beautiful pool and superb beach. We stayed for 5 nights in April which was just prior to the busy season. As a result we had the pool, beach and sun loungers almost to ourselves so we enjoyed a very peaceful and fun stay. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful.I was concerened with the amount of building work and bulldozers around the place and this should have been reflected in the price we paid due to the mud on the pathways plus lack of sunbeds on the beach.However, a great time was had by all. We've stayed at the Acapulco twice, both times we had a bungalow set in the pretty grounds which was very spacious and clean. My one problem with the bungalows is that it is not possible to sit outside (no balcony/outside space) and there was no where to dry wet towels or swimsuits. The beds were changed daily, the a/c worked perfectly, and a fridge in the room meant we could keep drinks nice and cold. 'Rated' as a 5* but in reality it is a 3* at best, which is OK if you pay 3* prices. This club hotel has everything one would expect from a relaxing and nice holiday resort. All of the staff is very hard working and helpful. You do see them working all day long! It's our 4th visit to the resort in 5 years and we are now 50+ years and like peace and quiet. I stayed at the hotel for a week with my young son who is 11yrs old and had a very good time.We stayed in one of the bungalows which was very nicely furnished bright, airy and also very clean. The facilities are very good the swimming pools are excellent and my son had a ball up and down the slides. I've recently come back from Cyprus where I took my family for a weeks holiday. We looked through the brochures and decided upon the Acapulco Beach Club and Hotel as it was a 5 star and we wanted to splash out and treat ourselves a bit. We were not 100% sure of visiting North Cyprus or a beach resort hotel like the Acapulco in February, but we're really glad we did. The Acapulco's nice sandy beach was clean, and although swimming was decidedly for the brave, the sunshine was lovely for just sitting and relaxing, (not so good if the wind was blowing). Stayed at the Acapulco Beach for two weeks half-board and had a great holiday. Flight was delayed so arrived late and tired. We checked in and were shown to our room which thankfully was really nice. It had loads of space although the furniture was a little old-fashioned. We went to the Acapulco this january and reckoned the hotel would be just as good as during the summer, but quieter. However, I suspect winter guests like us don't always get the best service. The staff seemed tired and not keen on working too hard, so everything took ages. Stanley and I visited the Acapulco hotel in November to find a delightful location in North Cyprus. As a Mediterranean location the temperatures were much warmer than our Bath homeland. While the temperatures were not conducive to beach bathing or swimming they were wonderful for little walks along the sand. My husband and I found many evenings to watch the sunsets on the beach. The food was very healthy and good. The only negative in the trip was the lack of other attractions around the hotel.... more
First the good stuff. The Acapulco has the best and cleanest beach in North Cyprus, and our two small kids loved it. It was busy but not overcrowded (late September) and on a couple of days when the wind blew, the kids enjoyed the swimming pools instead. My fiancé and I decided to take a little trip to celebrate our engagement. We stayed at the Acapulco Hotel in Kyrenia due to the wonderful value on the vacation package we were able to obtain. All things considered, I would not recommend this hotel. Sure, the beach is nice, but you pay an exorbitant price for a bottle of water. All of the drinks in the complex are too expensive, and they don't let you bring in your own drinks from outside the hotel. I can understand this ok when it comes to making money in their bar from alcohol, but when it is so hot; it is just a rip off to make guests pay so much for water. I travelled to North Cyprus in August. The weather was still warm for sunbathing and a little swimming. My stay at the Acapulco Hotel was enjoyable in all areas. I was given a hotel with a view of the sea. It would have been nice to see the mountains from my room, but that was not possible. I was able to enjoy the mountains from the pool area. Just returned from a two week family holiday in Kyrenia where we had a really great time. It was quite hot for the children, aged 6 and 4, being August, and as it was quite busy around the pool but there was plenty of shade. The aquapark was a great feature of the resort and all the children loved the chutes and slides. Had an an awesome time at the Acapulco with my friend Sal. best part is the beach - big, loads of sunbeds, really hot weather, warm sea, and a bar, right next to the hotel - brill! pool is big with waterslides, but lots of kids, so we stuck to the beach most of the time.Breakfast good and served for ages so you didn't have to get up early. The Acapulco was a great choice for our family holiday. Cyprus is always reliable with the weather, with lots of sun! The hotel has an absolutely massive pool, with slides for the kids (ok, so maybe the adults enjoyed them too). The area around the pool was always clean and well maintained while we were there, and there seemed to be the right number of sunbeds for everyone. In case the pool isn't enough, the hotel has a private beach too, which is nicer than a lot of the stony beaches in Cyprus.... more
The great thing about this Hotel is that it was right on the Beach with its own private cove. The weather in late May was just perfect, sunny and warm. We spent most days sunbathing and relaxing by one of the pools. I wasn't sure if the Acapulco Resort Hotel would be the best place for a May holiday, but I was wrong! The beach is lovely and the weather was warm enough to sit out and just read, or look at the scenery - very relaxing. The swimming pool is impressive but with that lovely beach I couldn't see the point of it much!
