I booked up for a two week trip away to Kyrenia after not getting chance to enjoy Christmas much due to a heavy work load, so this was an early holiday for 2010. I travelled with my wife and our small daughter (6 years old) and decided a bungalow suited our needs best. When we arrived the sun was shining and the surroundings really did look great. We had a truly great time at the Acapulco Hotel. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful.I was concerened with the amount of building work and bulldozers around the place and this should have been reflected in the price we paid due to the mud on the pathways plus lack of sunbeds on the beach.However, a great time was had by all. A pretty hotel in a pretty setting. My friends have stayed there a lot and liked it, so I had thought I knew what to expect. I was very disappointed, I´m sorry to say. The biggestproblem was that the poor staff didn´t have enough English education. They really wantedto help, but it all ended in total confusion. We stayed at the hotel in a Deluxe Bungalow and found this too small after 1 night as ther were two adults and our 2 children.We upgraded to two connecting rooms which cost another £630 but was well worth it.The food was a bit of a let down but the Health spa was great also a nice clean sandy beach.Drinks are expensive but it is a nice relaxed hotel.There were some smoking areas in the hotel and we were suprised that when the no smoking ban started on January the 1st that everyone still smoked.We... more
This hotel was a great dissapointment and can only gain its 5 star rating based on the facilities rather than the service and food.Our room was small, there was no seperate shower, only 2 or 3 English speaking programmes on the TV, one of which was BBC entertainment which was a constant repeat of the same programmes, day after day after day. Four of us stayed at the Acapulco at the end of October. Unfortunately, the weather changed as we arrived and we experienced a lot of rain. However, thanks to the excellent facilities, this did not detract from the enjoyable stay.The food and dining staff were excellent as were the spacious bungalows. Four of us, of mature ages, stayed here for two weeks in October in two de-luxe villas set in attractive gardens. The villa was comfortable and clean with bedding and towels changed on a daily basis by the cleaning ladies. The refrigerator was welcome for our own drinks as we did find these expensive in the hotel. We've stayed at the Acapulco twice, both times we had a bungalow set in the pretty grounds which was very spacious and clean. My one problem with the bungalows is that it is not possible to sit outside (no balcony/outside space) and there was no where to dry wet towels or swimsuits. The beds were changed daily, the a/c worked perfectly, and a fridge in the room meant we could keep drinks nice and cold. 'Rated' as a 5* but in reality it is a 3* at best, which is OK if you pay 3* prices. We stayed at the hotel for ten day in late September – beginning October. We had a bungalow in the grounds and the best thing about that was that it was so much more spacious and private than a hotel room. Our bungalow was very nicely furnished, bright and also very clean. Hotel was initially hard to find owing to lack of clear signs on the main road. Parking areas were not marked so it was difficult to know where to leave the car & the security chap did not speak English. Check in was very slow as there was 1 employee to attend to several people. This club hotel has everything one would expect from a relaxing and nice holiday resort. All of the staff is very hard working and helpful. You do see them working all day long! The hotel is very clean, the rooms are furnished with modern furniture, TV, hair drier, fridge, all available. The rooms are really good sized. We stayed at the Acapulco Beach 3 years ago and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The food was excellent with plenty of variety. The facilities were superb and the entertainment team were great fun. Lots of activities going on. Could not find fault with anything. I have just returned from a weeks' stay at a delux villa at the hotel, on a halfboard basisThe hotel itself is as described by the company, and would possibly equate to a UK four star standard, however, the villas are not, although, they are adequate. Took the family to the Acapulco, which were stressed-out husband AJ, two girls under 4 Ellie and Hanna, and me, their dog-tired Mum! Went to the Acapulco with a few girl friends for a week doing nothing on a beach, and that's just what we did! Beach was great - long, sandy, with clear blue sea and sunloungers for everyone. Loved the beach bar for drinks and snacks, and if we got too hot, we just ran into in the sea! The Mediterranean is a great place for a beach holiday - if it weren't for the crowds in the summer. High quality hotel complex with extensive grounds including large swimming pool with slides and childrens area and quieter relaxing pool for adults only. Spacious and clean bedrooms with balcony large enough to sit out in comfort and ensuite facilities. It's our 4th visit to the resort in 5 years and we are now 50+ years and like peace and quiet. I stayed at the hotel for a week with my young son who is 11yrs old and had a very good time.We stayed in one of the bungalows which was very nicely furnished bright, airy and also very clean. The facilities are very good the swimming pools are excellent and my son had a ball up and down the slides. I've recently come back from Cyprus where I took my family for a weeks holiday. We looked through the brochures and decided upon the Acapulco Beach Club and Hotel as it was a 5 star and we wanted to splash out and treat ourselves a bit. We were not 100% sure of visiting North Cyprus or a beach resort hotel like the Acapulco in February, but we're really glad we did. The Acapulco's nice sandy beach was clean, and although swimming was decidedly for the brave, the sunshine was lovely for just sitting and relaxing, (not so good if the wind was blowing). Stayed at the Acapulco Beach for two weeks half-board and had a great holiday. Flight was delayed so arrived late and tired. We checked in and were shown to our room which thankfully was really nice. It had loads of space although the furniture was a little old-fashioned. We went to the Acapulco this january and reckoned the hotel would be just as good as during the summer, but quieter. However, I suspect winter guests like us don't always get the best service. The staff seemed tired and not keen on working too hard, so everything took ages. Stanley and I visited the Acapulco hotel in November to find a delightful location in North Cyprus. As a Mediterranean location the temperatures were much warmer than our Bath homeland. While the temperatures were not conducive to beach bathing or swimming they were wonderful for little walks along the sand. My husband and I found many evenings to watch the sunsets on the beach. First the good stuff. The Acapulco has the best and cleanest beach in North Cyprus, and our two small kids loved it. It was busy but not overcrowded (late September) and on a couple of days when the wind blew, the kids enjoyed the swimming pools instead. All things considered, I would not recommend this hotel. Sure, the beach is nice, but you pay an exorbitant price for a bottle of water. All of the drinks in the complex are too expensive, and they don't let you bring in your own drinks from outside the hotel. I can understand this ok when it comes to making money in their bar from alcohol, but when it is so hot; it is just a rip off to make guests pay so much for water. I travelled to North Cyprus in August. The weather was still warm for sunbathing and a little swimming. My stay at the Acapulco Hotel was enjoyable in all areas. Just returned from a two week family holiday in Kyrenia where we had a really great time. It was quite hot for the children, aged 6 and 4, being August, and as it was quite busy around the pool but there was plenty of shade. The aquapark was a great feature of the resort and all the children loved the chutes and slides. The Acapulco was a great choice for our family holiday. Cyprus is always reliable with the weather, with lots of sun! The hotel has an absolutely massive pool, with slides for the kids (ok, so maybe the adults enjoyed them too). The area around the pool was always clean and well maintained while we were there, and there seemed to be the right number of sunbeds for everyone. The great thing about this Hotel is that it was right on the Beach with its own private cove. The weather in late May was just perfect, sunny and warm. The beach is lovely and the weather was warm enough to sit out and just read, or look at the scenery - very relaxing.
