Venus Beach Hotel Review - 1 of 4 Reviews

Venus Beach Hotel ticked all the right boxes for my holiday in North Cyprus, as I wanted to be close to Famagusta (I stayed in Lapta last year) and also be near a decent beach. The hotel is really a mix of apartments (residences) which are rented out, and some had not even been sold yet, so it was very quiet in May.

The outside pool wasn't heated so swimming was for the brave as far as I was concerned, and the sea temperature was OK for paddling. The beach was lovely in the sunshine but cooled off quickly after around 4pm.

Old Famagusta was delightful, very atmospheric, and I also enjoyed visiting the ruins of Roman town Salamis without coachloads of tourists blocking my view. Car hire is essential if you want to explore or eat out, but means you can drive into the wilder countryside of the Karpaz Peninsula, which is like old North Cyprus, without the concrete developments.
