I took my wife and daughter to the Merit Park Hotel recently, which we booked online through Go North Cyprus. The hotel is luxurious outside and in, it's quite a sight to behold when you first see it set up on the cliff! We were welcomed warmly by the staff and given a great room that was comfortable, clean and had a super sea view from the balcony. Merit Park is an impressive hotel, we found it via gonorthcyprus and booked in straightaway for an out of season break. We loved the traditional styling of much of the interior, as well as the reviews about the friendly staff. We had read that the hotel gets very busy in peak season with weddings and other visitors so out of season seemed like the best option for us. My wife and I visited Merit Park Hotel with gonorthcyprus having never been to the region before. We love luxury holidays and were swayed by the superb reviews. Happy to say we can add to them with our experience, which really was fantastic. Staff are professional and courteous, the hotel itself is stunning and stylishly decorated and the beach is beautifully clean. We've just returned from our stay at Merit Park, which we booked through GoNorthCyprus. What a place! If you're looking for luxury then this is the hotel for you. We were new to the region, so we booked with a specialist company and Gary in sales helped us make the right decision. We've just returned from a break at Merit Park and want to thank Gary at gonorthcyprus for the recommendation, we all had a wonderful time! When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and we found our room to be spacious and very clean. The whole hotel is very clean in fact. The highlight of our trip to Merit Park Hotel in north Cyprus had to be the food. Despite having children who are fussy eaters, the whole family found something delicious to try here. My favourite was the fish restaurant on the hotel's pier, where we got to sample scrumptious fresh seafood and fish while enjoying fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea. We recently booked a two-week break at the Merit Park Hotel through GoNorthCyprus and it turned out to be one of our best holidays yet, if not THE best. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us.Food was excellent, the choice was excellent. Noticed that someone was disappointed they did not get milk for their tea, we asked for milk and it was given without a problem.Decided to give the Park a try after spending a good few Christmases at Crystal Cove. This is a good hotel but it does need to make some changes to make it 5* . The staff on reception need to improve their English as I found communication with the staff there quite difficult. On arrvival late in the evening I was surprised not to be offered some refreshment either in the room or in the restaurant which one would expect from 5 star hotels.Although tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room , they did not provide milk which most English people take in their tea.When... more
Just spent 3 wonderful days over the Christmas period at the Merit Park, all the staff really went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. The food as always was excellent, Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch was Silver service and everyone on each table was served at the same time. Just recently returned from our 15 day holiday at the Merit Park in North Cyprus. Myself and my wife found this to be a wonderful hotel. The food and wine for an all inclusive was probably the best we have ever had. Last year my husband and I visited the Merit Park Hotel for a short break. When we stayed there there was a lot of building work taking place which was a little off putting. This is our third visit to Merit Park, we like the hotel very much, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, good location, good Wellness & Spa facilities, but, very noisy from the workmen who are hammering and banging from 8am to 8pm inside the hotel and outside, it was impossible to sit and relax by the pool or read in peace and quiet indoors in the lounge area. The staff in this hotel were very obliging and went out of their way to help us. Firdevs Kaymak deserves a very special mention. She was exceptional and helped me beyond the call of duty. we have stayed at this hotel when it was a mercure hotel and really enjoyed our stay, with the change over to the merit group, we found no real change except that the food was much better, the rooms are still good and the servicing was clean.the pools are amazing but they are reconstructing the walk way to the beach and sea and it is difficullt to get to the sea at the moment, but once it is finished it will be stunning.the only language spoken is turkish and english is spoken very poorly by all... more

The Mecure is the name of the latest hotel to be my home away from home whilst staying in Northern Cyprus. We stayed at the Mecure for 10 days on an all inclusive plan. The suite room was very nice and lived up to our expectations. The pool area was large, and the surrounding gardens and lawns were well kept. Our balcony view of the sea was awesome, we never tired of it.Even though we were on an all inclusive plan there was never a problem getting a drink, whether at the pool or any of the other bars. the hotel is in need of some work, the bed room was fine the bathroom mixer on the basin was loose and moving around ,two light bulbs did not work and the mastic around the bath was black in places. The steak restaurant was never open and the ala cart was just an open BBQ area and how they can charge extra for this I dont know. the decking around the pool area was loose in many places and people were forever triping up on the loose boards. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. First of all, they rate themselves a 5 star hotel but this hotel is definitely NOT a 5 star. Three star would be more like it. The hotel itself is very nice and it's in a lovely location with breathtaking north cyprus views, so in that respect I can't complain too much. We had a lovely holiday at the Mercure. Hotel was fabulous, clean, lovely rooms, excellent air conditioning in the rooms, but totally inadequate in the rest of the hotel. We took a 3 day break at the Mercure at the end of June. On arrival, we found the reception area extremely hot and had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be attended to. Once checked in, a very friendly porter escorted us to our sea view room on the first floor which was bright and beautifully furnished, however, without a balcolny, which was a pity as we had to sit INSIDE and look at the stunning views. My other half and I travel frequently in our retired years and we've seen our share of hotels, both bad and good. We both agreed that the Mercure Hotel is one of the top hotels in North Cyprus. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently when we took a week off in northern cyprus and very much enjoyed our stay. I'm surprised by all the bad reviews this hotel has received, as I found everything to be more than satisfactory. Lovely hotel. The food was good. We spent a three day stay over Christmas with friends and family. Whilst there was some confusion over the Gala night it did not spoil our stay. The rooms were well stocked clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful and food plentiful and very good with great choices and variations The indoor spa facilities were enjoyed by all ages. Our expectations of the Mercure were really high before we went. My husband and I had booked a luxurious break away for our anniversary and had chosen the hotel because of how gorgeous it looked in the pictures. We stayed at the Mecure from 12th to 19th of March and found it to be a wonderful hotel.The room was quite large and furnished quite well, the bathroom was nice and clean and we were supplied with fresh linen everyday of our stay. The Mercure Hotel offers excellent value for money we paid £60/night room and breakfast (booked through KyreniaHotels.co.uk). The location is superb with great views out onto the med. The rooms are average with a small bathroom and a balcony too small to sit on. We have stayed at this hotel on at least 3 occasions at different times through out the last 2 years. We have always found it to be comfortable clean and pleasant as a hotel of this calibre should be. The food in the main restaurant is of a reasonable standardand is made up of typical International and Cypriot cuisine. What a difference a day makes at the Mercure. Thursday - peaceful, quiet, uncrowded, until Friday night when a conference crowd arrived. From then on, the restaurants and bars packed, noisy chats in the corridors until late, etc. Also, local families can come in during the weekend to use the pool, but since we went early in the season, this wasn't a problem. I was a little concerned about visiting North Cyprus out of season, (November) so chose the Mercure Hotel as it was 5 star and open all year round. I had a wonderful time in Cyprus. The Mercure Hotel was adequate with a very enticing pool and beach area. The grounds surrounding the hotel are very well kept. The view from my suite was of the sea which was very relaxing. It was comprised of a bedroom and a sitting room. The fitness centre was first rate with an offering of Turkish Baths. The Mercure is a really popular hotel in North Cyprus, and that's both a blessing and a curse if you want to come here for a holiday.I loved the setting as soon as we arrived, since the hotel sits proud on a headland, so our sea view room really did overlook the sea. I travelled to North Cyprus on business and stayed at The Mercure for two nights. It is an impressive looking hotel when you walk in, not as faceless as many international hotels. My room was on a par with Hilton or Marriott hotel rooms, with wifi and a decent tv. Breakfast buffet was well prepared and fresh, dinner good with Turkish options available, and at normal 5 star international prices. Wine was overpriced for the quality, but international hotel wines are rarely anything but overpriced.... more
