We stayed at the Mecure for 10 days on an all inclusive plan. The suite room was very nice and lived up to our expectations. The pool area was large, and the surrounding gardens and lawns were well kept. Our balcony view of the sea was awesome, we never tired of it.Even though we were on an all inclusive plan there was never a problem getting a drink, whether at the pool or any of the other bars. We did find the food good but needed more variety so we ate out a few times.Staff could be a bit friendlier... more

Avoid at all costs. My partner was jumped on by a security guard whilst sat on a sunbed. He chose his moment perfectly and only because she fought tooth and nail and screamed as loud as she could did he get off of her. Unluckily for him she identified him to the hotel management who would not call the police and when i insisted on the receptionist to call them he said the police couldnt speak english but would happily talk to me on the phone. The security guard was from the casino so after we made... more

the hotel is in need of some work, the bed room was fine the bathroom mixer on the basin was loose and moving around ,two light bulbs did not work and the mastic around the bath was black in places. The steak restaurant was never open and the ala cart was just an open BBQ area and how they can charge extra for this I dont know. the decking around the pool area was loose in many places and people were forever triping up on the loose boards. At least thirty pecent of the sunbeds were damaged,torn... more

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. First of all, they rate themselves a 5 star hotel but this hotel is definitely NOT a 5 star. Three star would be more like it. The hotel itself is very nice and it's in a lovely location with breathtaking north cyprus views, so in that respect I can't complain too much. The rooms are nice and kept clean and the staff is very polite and helpful. However, there were so many other things that caused us to dislike... more

We had a lovely holiday at the Mercure. Hotel was fabulous, clean, lovely rooms, excellent air conditioning in the rooms, but totally inadequate in the rest of the hotel. Pool areas was spotlessly clean & well maintained. Food was typical Turkish/Cypriot which is to be expected, If you want English food you stay in England. Weekdays were great, Weekends was utter chaos, with day trippers taking over the pool & beach & restaurant, really dreadful, & if we had arrived on the Friday we would have... more

We took a 3 day break at the Mercure at the end of June. On arrival, we found the reception area extremely hot and had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be attended to. Once checked in, a very friendly porter escorted us to our sea view room on the first floor which was bright and beautifully furnished, however, without a balcolny, which was a pity as we had to sit INSIDE and look at the stunning views. Everything one would expect of a 5 star hotel was on offer in the room and plenty of nice toiletries... more

My other half and I travel frequently in our retired years and we've seen our share of hotels, both bad and good. We both agreed that the Mercure Hotel is one of the top hotels in North Cyprus. I'm not sure why they have received some bad reviews lately but in both our opinions, the reviews were unwarranted (or theyve made some great changes lately). We really enjoyed staying here and thought the service was excellent and the food was some of the best we've had.We paid for all-inclusive (full... more

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently when we took a week off in northern cyprus and very much enjoyed our stay. I'm surprised by all the bad reviews this hotel has received, as I found everything to be more than satisfactory. We went all-inclusive (full board plus) and found the food to be excellent in our opinion. Breakfast and lunch was good; dinner consisted of a huge selection of delicious food everyday. We were never bored with the food. Also, they serve either beer or wine with meals... more

Lovely hotel. The food was good. The rooms were very spacious however you could here all the noise from the entertainment in our room. The staff were friendly enough.I would recommend the spa, I has a full body massage and it was great. There was a big business convention on during our stay if we had realised we would have booked else where.Generally a very nice hotel with beautiful views in a quite area.... more

We spent a three day stay over Christmas with friends and family. Whilst there was some confusion over the Gala night it did not spoil our stay. The rooms were well stocked clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful and food plentiful and very good with great choices and variations The indoor spa facilities were enjoyed by all ages. The all inclusive package was definatly a plus and well worth the money. We would certainly book another stay at the Mecure... more

Our expectations of the Mercure were really high before we went. My husband and I had booked a luxurious break away for our anniversary and had chosen the hotel because of how gorgeous it looked in the pictures. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to expectations. The décor in the hotel was lovely and everything was perfectly clean so I guess on that front you can't complain. The problem is that if it promotes itself as a 5 star, you expect 5 star standard and it just wasn't.Our room had a balcony... more

We stayed at the Mecure from 12th to 19th of March and found it to be a wonderful hotel. The room was quite large and furnished quite well, the bathroom was nice and clean and we were supplied with fresh linen everyday of our stay. We visited the hotel's casino on numerous occassions and were treated as welcomed guest. We enjoyed a welcome drink which was on a table inside the front entry, the drinks were good, yet needed to be cold. Breakfast was quite enjoyable, often serving fresh fruit, yogurt,... more

We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.Unfortunately there was no tea and coffee facilities avalible in the room.Room service was very good and although the language was a problem the staff were very friendly. The new fish restaurant was very good, and the breakfasts were more than adequate. We enjoyed to casino, again friendly staff. There were no disturbances from banging doors or noisey guests, and although our room was above the entrance to the casino there was no problem with noise.... more

The Mercure Hotel offers excellent value for money we paid £60/night room and breakfast (booked through KyreniaHotels.co.uk). The location is superb with great views out onto the med. The rooms are average with a small bathroom and a balcony too small to sit on. Also the air con did not work properly. The facilities are what you would expect with an excellent 40 metre pool and indoor pool with spa. The gym was disapointing even by hotel standards. At the time of our stay the sea front decking area... more

We have stayed at this hotel on at least 3 occasions at different times through out the last 2 years. We have always found it to be comfortable clean and pleasant as a hotel of this calibre should be. The food in the main restaurant is of a reasonable standardand is made up of typical International and Cypriot cuisine. The Steak house was a complete let down this time and we have noticed that the standard of food in here has worsened over the last 2 visits. It is also expensive for the quality offered... more

What a difference a day makes at the Mercure. Thursday - peaceful, quiet, uncrowded, until Friday night when a conference crowd arrived. From then on, the restaurants and bars packed, noisy chats in the corridors until late, etc. Also, local families can come in during the weekend to use the pool, but since we went early in the season, this wasn't a problem. Sunday evening, the conference delegates all went home again. Monday - quiet, peaceful, uncrowded... Having got that off my chest, I think... more

I was a little concerned about visiting North Cyprus out of season, (November) so chose the Mercure Hotel as it was 5 star and open all year round. When we arrived our room was ready and we got one with a sea view without even asking, which was nice. The room was clean, airy and with modern decor, and a clean if a little snug bathroom. Probably because of the time of year, the swimming pool terrace was nearly empty so I could always find somewhere to sit in the sun or the shade - it was surprisingly... more

I had a wonderful time in Cyprus. The Mercure Hotel was adequate with a very enticing pool and beach area. The grounds surrounding the hotel are very well kept. The view from my suite was of the sea which was very relaxing. It was comprised of a bedroom and a sitting room. The fitness centre was first rate with an offering of Turkish Baths. I enjoyed the cuisine that the hotel had to offer as well as the surrounding area restaurants. The only deterrent I found was the loud Turkish pop music... more

The Mercure is a really popular hotel in North Cyprus, and that's both a blessing and a curse if you want to come here for a holiday.I loved the setting as soon as we arrived, since the hotel sits proud on a headland, so our sea view room really did overlook the sea. The hotel has a big swimming pool with a bridge over it, plus its own patch of beach on the nearby bay, complete with beach bar service. It was bliss just to lie back and enjoy the sunshine, the sand, the attentive service, the quiet... more

I travelled to North Cyprus on business and stayed at The Mercure for two nights. It is an impressive looking hotel when you walk in, not as faceless as many international hotels. My room was on a par with Hilton or Marriott hotel rooms, with wifi and a decent tv. Breakfast buffet was well prepared and fresh, dinner good with Turkish options available, and at normal 5 star international prices. Wine was overpriced for the quality, but international hotel wines are rarely anything but overpriced.... more
