I very much enjoyed my stay at the Dome in Kyrenia. I wanted a smaller, friendly hotel as I was travelling on my own, rather than a big resort hotel where it's hard to meet people.

My room was comfortable and had a lovely sea view. It was clean and airy, and had a small but perfectly acceptable bathroom ensuite. I was very grateful for the air conditioning, as it got very hot in June.

The hotel staff knew I was on my own and went out of their way to make me feel welcome, from ensuring I had a good table in the restaurant to checking if I needed anything as I walked through reception.

An unexpected delight at the Dome was the rocks area that just out into the sea from the hotel. I didn't swim in the rock pools, but met all sorts of fascinating people while sitting there. Many people came to the hotel to have cocktails in the evening too, so there were always new folk to chat to.

I flew into Ercan airport and got a taxi transfer to the hotel, and was sitting on the hotel terrace with a cool drink just over an hour later. Since the hotel is in the centre of Kyrenia, I did not need a car or taxi to see most of the town's sights, and I found there was more than enough to see within gentle walking distance.

Overall, the Dome is a very welcoming hotel that made travelling on my own to North Cyprus for the first time a delightful holiday.
