My wife, daughter and I have just returned from Riverside Holiday Village having had a wonderful time. We decided to book an out of season break after reading the reviews on the gonorthcyprus website, and Gary in sales got us a good deal. We had a very well maintained room with plenty of storage, very clean and tea and coffee facilities too. Stunning views of the mountains and the pools are picturesque with the fruit trees dotted around. The food at the hotel is delicious and very well cooked and... more

We stayed at Riverside recently on a good value deal we found via the gonorthcyprus website. We had a pleasant room, a little dated but adds to the charm - the whole hotel has a rustic feel. Great swimming pools and high standard of cleanliness throughout the site, our towels were changed every day. There was quite a queue at the buffet at mealtimes so we would recommend using the a la carte restaurant instead, the food quality was better and there was less waiting. Staff very efficient and pleasant.... more

I took the wife and our two toddlers to Riverside Garden Resort for a cheap break in the sun. It's pretty basic but can't complain for the price we paid through gonorthcyprus.com, which even included transfers. Staff were pleasant and friendly and the accommodation was clean but minimal. Pool area and playground are great, the kids loved both, it's also nice to have so many trees on the site, gives it a more natural feel. Fun games room too. We didn't eat at the hotel much so can't really pass judgement... more

We took our grandchildren to Riverside Garden Resort on a break through gonorthcyprus after finding the company online. We got a good price and liked the look of the hotel as it seemed to be a good all round resort. Our room was clean and modern, looked like it had been recently renovated. Be aware that the hot water system has special usage guidelines, so you have to turn it on to heat about an hour before you want it for a shower etc. The a la carte restaurant is very good, can't comment on the... more

We've just got back from a cheap break at Riverside, which we booked through GoNorthCyprus. We were after a decent place, nothing too fancy or expensive, and Gary in sales found us just what we wanted in Riverside. It's clean, the staff are pleasant - though not all have excellent English, and our room was very nice, large and with a balcony and fridge. There are a few pools, all of which seem clean and well kept too. The food is simple but tasty, we stayed half board. There is a beach you can get... more

We booked a last minute trip to Riverside Holiday Village as we wanted to get away from the bad British weather and soak up a bit of sun, so we took the kids here for a bit of family fun. We booked with gonorthcyprus and got a great deal, so we were very happy with that. Arrived at the hotel and found the grounds to be very picturesque, lots of flowers out and the pool area looked wonderful. We were met by friendly staff and checked into our room, which was basic and a bit tired but we discovered... more

I'm very picky when it comes to holidays but I couldn't resist the Riverside Holiday Village when I saw the prices on the GoNorthCyprus website. I was a bit worried the price was too good to be true but Gary in sales reassured me that the costs were correct and gave me all the information I needed to make a decision. We stayed at Riverside for a week with our boys, 6 and 8, and we all really enjoyed our time here. There's a lovely pool, a fun aqua park area and a playground for the kids. You can... more

I was worried about coming here after reading some reviews. I gave the company a ring who I had booked through, Go North Cyprus, and they assured me they had received no bad reviews from this hotel and it had passed their own stringent inspection. As I've dealt with this company several times I was reassured and started looking forward to my holiday. From the moment I arrived I knew my worries were unfounded. The first thing you notice is the aroma of the honeysuckle as you walk through the gardens... more

they clean it every day, the stuff is very helpful, the place is lovely, everything was so good that i will remember for a long time. It was in november and there were not that many peaple, so there was peace and quet, may be it is good idea to come there in november. I really felt myself overthere. My daughter played with bunch of cats. I picked the room right next to a la cart restaurant and kids playground. It was pretty wise, 'cause I always could find my kid somewhere around there, I could... more

After moving hotels we were moved to Riverside! Our room was brand new very clean very comfortable nothing to fault. Large balcony. Although a bit far fromPools it was ok. The food at riverside unfortunately is a disappointment. I only ate once the whole week at the all inclusive restaurant. The bar at the pool serves nice food but that has to be paid for. The pools are lovely really clean etc. Childrens pool is great with slides etc. The riverside village has a little shop which is very handy and... more

Mandy was fantastic at organising a one night stay for a family of 5 in a villa at very short notice. We were half board and there was lots of food both for breakfast and evening meal and as it was self service you could have as much as you wanted which pleased my 3 hungry children, giving them a chance to try the local foods or opt for something they knew or was similar. You will have to purchase drinks in the evening as they are not included in the HB option. Basic but comfortable and clean,... more

My family have just returned from our fourth visit to the Riverside Garden Resort (formally known as the Riverside Holiday Village). We got a really good half term deal from www.gonorthcyprus. My husband spoke to Sue who tried really hard to get the best deal possible and we were really impressed with the price we were offered as we'd paid more for the same holiday last year.My family love North Cyprus as it literally has everything you could ever want and need in a holiday: beauty, beaches, history... more

Stayed here for two weeks with my wife and 14 year old son, also my daughter and her two young children. Pools (all three of them) were great, clean and just about enough sun-beds. All staff could not do enough for you, very attentive and helpful. Anytime there was a problem it was immediately and pleasantly dealt with. Food was great, so was the beer and it was not hard to pay for food etc. when dining away from the village. Only drawback was the distance from the nearest town, I had imagined... more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks Apr/May 2013 and have never been to Northern Cyprus before. We needed a relaxing holiday after a hard winter and health problems for us both. Booking the holiday was very easy on line, quickly followed by an email confirmation and we also booked extra leg room seats with Monarch. Flights were great, coming back plane was nearly empty! Taxi pick-up no problem, nice Mercedes taxi and driver, although he did drive a little fast for me. Riverside did not disappoint,... more

I've been holidaying in Cyprus for about ten years now and for the past four my family and I have always adopted the Riverside as our default holiday accommodation. We discovered it by chance a few years ago and loved it so much we have simply not bothered to look for anywhere else since! We only get the time to go once a year and it's not always even in the nice summer weather, but we always try to get a break in at some point. This year due to changing jobs just before Christmas, our trip over... more

Unfortunately my lasting memory of our stay at the Riverside was when we left the Bungalow for a taxi ride to Ercan Airport at 0530. The whole place was pitch black and I fell of the path into a garden losing my bags, suitcase, sunglasses and room key - how I didn't break my neck I shall never know. I found my case and bags and, after borrowing the receptionists mobile 'phone to use it's torch, my sunglasses. Unfortunately I couldn't find the room key. I returned the 'phone and explained that having... more

If you are thinking of booking this resort than whether you have a good or bad holiday will depend on the type of accommodation you are allocated on your arrival. We paud extra to have a superior room and still ended up with a bungalow straight from the 70s, clean but old and no mod cons at all.We did however see some of the lovely accommodation that other customers were staying in and had we been allocated one of those I would be writing a totally different review. We thought the location was fine... more

My wife and I spent about a week here at Riverside Holiday Village recently. This was not our first trip here and it won't be our last to north cyprus, as we love it here. Since we are an older couple, we are looking more for relaxation and peace and quiet. This hotel delivers that. It's the perfect setting for a romantic getaway for a young couple; or for older couples like us, a relaxing vacation in a peaceful and tranquil setting. This hotel is set amidst beautiful and lush gardens just... more

My family and I have stayed at Riverside holiday village a number of times over the years and we always enjoy it. Not once have we had any bad experiences, yet I read some not-so-nice reviews recently and decided to add my own review to balance it out somewhat. The last visit there was several months ago, but we've booked three weeks there again coming up soon. I expect it to be as great as it always is. In our opinion, one of the best in northern cyprus.Riverside holiday village is a lovely... more

My family and I have just returned from our third stay at the Riverside Holiday Village in Kyrenia in North Cyprus. We have been really pleased with the hotel every time we've visited, which is the main reason for our continued custom. Riverside is a family owned-and-run hotel, and so whilst it lacks some of the mod-cons of larger complexes, it also has a friendlier more personal feel to it.The hotel itself, along with its facilities are fairly standard. The 'basic' rooms are fairly aptly named... more

The Riverside Holiday Village was the perfect holiday. When we booked, we were relatively happy with the price but didn't expect the value for money which we actually received in North Cyprus. The Riverside holiday village itself was beautiful; set in lush grounds with stunning gardens. The village was quite a way out from the local villages but luckily there was an adequate bus serve to take you anywhere you wanted to go. This may sound like a bit of a pain, but I really believe that when you stand... more

As a hotel, the Riverside Holiday Village had its positives and negatives. Some of the hotel is quite shabby and old-looking. The first room we were booked into wasn't acceptable for myself and family (including 2 young children.) My husband and I felt that we had paid good money so were confident in asking for another. The second was much better, but still fairly plain. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They had no trouble changing us to another room and were always appeared to work hard... more

After reading reviews, we decided to book a superior villa on a self-catering basis, and we glad we did. As others have remarked on other review sites, the Village is super for kids, as the staff is very friendly and the pool perfect for younger kids in terms of swimming, although I saw mums and dads occasionally having to watch their step. Great views of the mountains, and a very relaxing place to chill out even if you don't have kids but enjoy seeing them having fun, like us.The villa was clean... more

This was our first visit to North Cyprus and we really enjoyed it. The hotel/resort was much nicer than I expected, and being the winter it was very quiet. Most of the tourists were older couples, like ourselves, and there were very few families with children. What we enjoyed were the gardens, the excellent half-board meals and the trips we booked from the hotel. We did several walking and bicycle tours of the island with a guide and saw so many wonderful places and we played several rounds of golf.... more

The Riverside Holiday Village is good for anyone looking for a villa-style holiday but without the hassle! The Riverside has blocks of apartments and some villas, all low rise, so you have your own space, but you also have full use of the facilities such as the swimming pool, etc. Our newly renovated villa was clean, airy and we heard very little noise from our neighbours. The air conditioning worked very well (with no extra charges), and the maid came in every day to clean and give us new towels,... more

It is hard to write this review because some people might really like this kind of hotel, but it wasn't right for us at all. I was on holiday with my friends, and as soon as we arrived at the hotel it was clear that it was full of mostly families. The pool was nice but again, there were tons of noisy kids around. There was a separate pool just for swimming though, which meant that we could go for a dip without having to dodge the balls and inflatables. If you do go on holiday to Cyprus with... more

Our two week holiday in North Cyprus was hot, hot, hot, so we were really grateful for the swimming pools and aircon in our apartment. Villa was airy and light, with a very usable kitchen and was spotlessly cleaned every day. We had hired a car betwwn the four of us which proved useful for sightseeing and trip to the local beaches, shopping in Kyrenia, etc. (There is a shop on site for essentials and treats like chocolate or crisps.)Breakfast menu consisted mainly of eggs, which was fine if a little... more

This was our first trip as a family to North Cyprus and we did not know quite what to expect, but we had a wonderful time. We stayed in a beautiful villa right next to the Aqua Park and the children had a ball. This is a wonderful resort, and I cannot praise it highly enough. Our three-bedroom villa had loads of space for us all. The furniture was modern and new and had loads of storage space and a well-fitted kitchen which is ideal with children. Self-catering saved us a fortune, especially on... more

We got this trip at the last minute through Direct Traveller. Thought it would be fun to have some time in the sun before returning to university. While the accommodations were quite nice the hotel is older. The food wasn't part of the package so we had to eat at the restaurants at the hotel or walk a bit to find food. It was nothing spectacular but good nonetheless. The pool is the best feature with loungers. The Olympic pool is the best for quiet and the flume pool sees more activity. There... more

This is a children's hotel, no doubt about it. The pool is massive, and has a little aqua park with flumes which kept our two kids (7 and 9) entertained for hours each day (and tired them out so that they had an early night and my wife and I had a few hours alone each evening.) Our apartment was clean, although it looked like it could do with a bit of a face lift. The beds and furniture were all comfy, and we had no complaints from any family member. There was air conditioning, although we... more
