I have just come back from a last minute winter sun trip to Alsancak and stayed at the Denizkizi Hotel with my husband. We both retired two years ago and have been enjoying some lovely holidays abroad but are looking for somewhere to visit on a regular basis. We only booked the Denizkizi because it was one of the hotels on offer but were so impressed that we are already planning our return trip!

The hotel is spacious and immaculately clean. The rooms easily meet this standard too. They are very well kept and although our bathroom was small, the bedroom area was plentiful in size. Our room had a beautiful sea view, as did the majority of the other bedrooms.

Although we did plan some excursions to see the sights, my husband and I both felt that we could have easily stayed within the vicinity of the hotel for most of our stay: the gardens are extensive and luscious and the hotel itself has really good facilities. I would definitely recommend hiring a car if you do venture out though, as the hotel is quite distance from the main amenities.

We loved the restaurants and brilliant choice of food. We got to sample some wonderful traditional dishes, all clearly made from really fresh ingredients.

We found the staff at the hotel to be friendly and hospitable and the maid service every day was very good. The reception staff were a little slow when checking us in, but we didn't really mind- it gave us a chance to have a nosey around the reception area.

Apart from the bathroom size, I cannot fault the hotel! I literally haven't stopped talking about it since I've come home. We just can't wait to go back! And maybe when it's a little warmer too.
