Palm Beach Hotel Review - 9 of 41 Reviews

Along with many others, we were extremely pleased to find out that the Palm Beach was reopening after enjoying a brilliant stay at the former incarnation. Upon receiving the good news we immediately set about planning a return visit which took the form of a ten-day holiday earlier this year.

The renovation has definitely been worthwhile and (we were happy to discover) was finished properly with no loose ends or wandering tradesman affecting our stay in the slightest. The new restaurant offers both indoor and open-air dining and there is a brand new evening barbecue which proved too much of a temptation on several occasions after a few drinks. The old restaurant is now part of the casino- which as a result is much larger and subsequently less crowded during busy periods. We don't gamble really but we did notice a reduction in the noise pollution from the casino to other areas of the hotel this time round.

The new style of room feels very spacious and there was plenty of excess space even with two of us in there. The wardrobes are big enough to accommodate clothing for a couple of weeks at the very least and the bathroom had a clean, minimalist feel that we found appropriate.

All of the staff at the hotel (although it shouldn't really make any difference and I feel like an oaf for pointing it out) speak good English and I must admit it is reassuring to know you can communicate and be understood by everyone rather than having to seek out specific staff for better comprehension.

The chef at the new restaurant is a familiar face, which again was great news since we enjoyed his food so much last time around. He's more than willing to work around any special requirements (I myself am intolerant to wheat) if you approach him during your first visit and let him know.

I can definitely see the Palm Beach retaining its fantastic reputation that it earned so thoroughly before the closer.
