Olive Tree Hotel Review - 3 of 14 Reviews

I can't fault the customer service I got from the travel agents I booked the Olive Tree Hotel with. For the first time I used an online travel agent (www.gonorthcyprus) because the in-store ones just can't compete with online prices. I spoke to Mandy who gave me so much information about Kyrenia and recommended that for our hotel choice we book a hire car- this came in really handy!

Our accommodation at the Olive Tree Hotel was a wonderful spacious and very clean villa. This was the biggest plus of our hotel stay! The bathroom was equipped with mini toiletries, which is always a plus and I was so very pleased to have a hairdryer!

On the flip side of the stay were a few little niggles, which make me unsure about whether or not I will stay there again. Firstly there was the fact that there were no English speaking channels on the television. I know that makes me sound very Brit-abroad, but you'd hope that a hotel would cater for the different nationalities staying there.

The second issue was the fact that you couldn't take your own food and drink into the hotel. I understand that it wouldn't be expected that you could smuggle in a three course meal, but a few bottles of water and some fruit really isn't a massive deal, especially as when abroad you have to be so cautious about using the tap water! I think the owners at the Olive Tree are missing a trick here: the best money they can make is from happy customers and not from forcing them to buy expensive drinks.

Overall we had a wonderful holiday and hope that if we return, the hotel has addressed its few minor issues as it has a lot to offer.
