Citrus Tree Gardens Review - 6 of 29 Reviews

This was our second stay at Citrus Tree Gardens. The first time we visited Northern Cyprus we stayed here, we thought the hotel was lovely and everything was quite nice. This time, however, it seemed that the place had gone downhill. I noticed quite a bit of what appeared to be dog hair on the floors and stairs and everything was very dusty. Our bungalow was no exception. Immediately upon arrival, I found a dust cloth and cleaned the room myself. The shower and water taps were old and not clean either. I was very disappointed, as our prior experience was so much better. I will say, however, that I believe the lack of general cleanliness is mainly because the Citrus Tree Gardens doesn't employ enough cleaners, not because they don't care.

We did have a relatively positive experience, however, in spite of the lack of general cleanliness in the hotel. For one thing, we met some very wonderful and interesting people. This hotel caters to people of all ages, so it would be great for families or groups of varying ages. The beds were quite comfortable and breakfast was good. We didn't eat many lunches or dinners in the hotel dining room though, as there were so many great North Cyprus restaurants only a short distance away.

The bar in the hotel was one of our regular hangouts while we were at the Citrus Tree Gardens, and we appreciated the wonderful service and friendly attitudes of the bartenders. They went out of their way to see to it that we had what we wanted in the way of drinks, plus they were efficient. For that matter, everyone in the hotel was very friendly, polite and helpful. The Citrus Tree rents cars also, which came in handy for us and the rates are reasonable. As much as I like this hotel, I'm hoping that they hire a few more cleaners, as I'd like to stay here again if I could be sure that the place would be clean next time.
