I took my family to stay at the Almond Holiday Village in early December this year. I had been to Kyrenia before, but it was many years ago and I wasn't sure where to stay. After some digging around I discovered that the Almond Village was the most consistently well-reviewed complex in the region and decided to give it a go.

We stayed in the hotel (bed and breakfast) for just over a week. On our arrival we managed to get a look at the pool which was excellently maintained and easily large enough to accommodate the hotel's guests. Because we had arrived late on a Sunday night the Almond Village staff were unable to provide us with food from the restaurant, but were only too happy to make up some great little sandwiches for us to tide us over until morning. It's that kind of “go the extra mile” attitude that makes places like this such a pleasure to stay in.

We have travelled all over the Mediterranean and stayed at too many hotels to count, but this is easily amongst the best we've seen. No job was too big or too small for the staff to attend to and there seems to be a genuine concern for your comfort and happiness, which is preferable to the cold, formal customer service you sometimes find elsewhere. The Almond is more of a quiet, relaxed hotel than one that you'd visit if you were in need of a party, but this is no bad thing by any means.

When we finally got to eat at the restaurant, we found it to be of a very high standard and a more than reasonable price. Drinks weren't cheap, but nor were they the most expensive we've ever come across so we could afford to drink there occasionally before stepping out into town.

In summary, we would just like to express our gratitude to the staff at the Almond Village for making our stay so enjoyable. A+
